A Desired Future

November 1, 2021 | Jake Each

We are dreaming big. It is our vision as a church in the next five years to start another campus in our community and plant a collegiate church through our partnership in The Salt Network, and send out a global church planting team overseas. We are dreaming of a future where ministry at Veritas is multiplied outside of our walls and to the ends of the earth.

Church: The Good, the Bad, and the Beautiful

June 30, 2021 | Jake Each

What comes to mind when you hear someone say “church”? We all have had experiences that shape our attitude and influence our perspective, whether they are joyful, tearful, or somewhere in between. But beyond our personal experience, do we really know what God’s intention is for the church? Do we understand its design and objectives? In order to endure the certain struggles of being part of the church body, we must have a clear vision of God’s great purpose for the church.

Vision Reinforcement | Gospel

October 12, 2020 | Michael Rhodes

Our first value is “Gospel.” It is simply the good news. The good news that when we were dead in our sins and trespasses, Jesus came to earth, lived a perfect life that we couldn’t live, died a death that we deserved to die, and rose from the dead to give us new life. It’s the good news that leads to our salvation and the lens by which we approach all of life.

The Church and Unity

July 22, 2020 | Jake Each

Diversity is such a beautiful picture of God’s kingdom. In my life, I have tremendously benefited from being a part of different Christian communities. In college at Arizona State, I was a member of a predominately African American church in Phoenix. While at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, I was a part of a Korean church. I’ve pastored in a church in small town, rural Iowa and in a church in the very affluent East Valley outside of Phoenix. All of those experiences have been wonderfully shaping in my life. A fuller expression of God’s diverse kingdom is good for our discipleship.

Baptisms | A Live Documentary About a Victorious Hero

November 11, 2019 | Michael Rhodes

We have had the privilege of regularly watching live ‘documentaries’ about a triumphant hero who is victorious over death and brings others into new life with him. Those live films are called baptisms. They are real stories of crossing over from death to life. They are real people who want others to know about the victory they have experienced in Jesus.

Worship Gathered

July 15, 2019 | Caleb Sherwood

“I rejoiced with those who said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the LORD.’” (Ps. 122:1 CSB). How often have you found yourself saying this very same thing? When Sunday morning rolls around, do you wake up with the same kind of excitement as the Psalmist? Or do you find yourself hitting the snooze multiple times, hoping you will feel up to making it to the late service?

Contribute | Church

March 19, 2019 | Matthew Morken

This is one of the best things about Christian faith. Our Leader served us and provided an example to us on how to live. He didn’t sit on his throne and demand that creation to do his work, though he could have. With all of these examples of service/contribution in Christ, why don’t we serve/contribute?

Network Update

March 4, 2019 | Nate Kaloupek

I am in a unique position in our church: I get to have one foot in the world of our week-to-week life as we gather together for worship on Sundays; then, I often get to place the other foot in contexts like The Salt Company Spring Conference, which took place in early February. It is in those contexts I get to hear the vision for the next churches The Salt Network is planting. I also get to watch college students see a bigger purpose for their lives – a purpose that sees them transferring schools and applying for jobs in new cities for the sake of the gospel.

Baptism - What and Why

October 30, 2018 | Matthew Morken

This is what I proclaim to my family, my friends, the Church and the world in baptism. I have been crucified with Christ and have been raised again in newness of life (Romans 6:3-9). The act of baptism doesn’t actually wash away sins but is an act of obedience and testimony proclaiming the work completed by the Lord of my life, King Jesus.
